The Hard Streets of Palo Alto

Updated: Aug 12, 2019

With my Dad now living in San Francisco, it had been years since visiting Palo Alto. We took a morning so I could share a few of my childhood spots with the girls.

Downtown Palo Alto

Our first stop was a coffee shop. This coffee shop, along with 99% of downtown, looks nothing like what it did when I grew up. That’s what happens when Palo Alto happened ;)

Coffee shops get better when Apple, Google & Facebook happen.

Paly Tennis

Lots of yellow tennis balls, great friends and championships on those courts.

Let me have my Al Bundy moment.

Wildcats (not Northwestern)

We stopped by Walter Hays, my elementary school, whose mascot is the Wildcat. Sadie was most interested in where I broke my arm in 4th grade. I could show her where, but the jungle gyms wasn’t up any longer.

A bit different than PS166 on W. 89th St.

Byron Street

Ah . . . 2323.

I framed the day as taking Paige & Sadie down my memory lane, but who are we kidding...this trip to Palo Alto was 100% for me!
