Woke up for school, internet didn’t work...again! This time, the ISP was down and came back up right where we were about to leave to try out a library nearby. After a school session, we grabbed a quick lunch nearby.
Coastal Walk
We’ve fully embraced the good old fashion Aussie coastal walks since arriving, including the iconic Bondi and Manly in Sydney. Aussies do a kick ass job connecting their coastlines with footpaths. We did a shorter 1.5 mile walk that took us from Kirra beach, in front of our AirBnb, to Snapper Rocks.
We passed a few surf clubs along the way. These are social clubs/restaurants/bars/slot machines that each village or town seems to have.
Surf Urge
On the way to Snapper Rock, the girls wanted to get in the water. We promised we would, on the way back, which we did. It was another first for them, legitimately the first time there were in ocean water with some legitimate waves. They loved it!
I took them in, holding their hands and taught them to duck dive (go under) the waves. They even tried a bit of body surfing in some white water.
When we got back from our Walk, Sarah went for a run, making friends with a Koala.
Sadie noticed Sarah coming back from her run from our balcony and I snapped this pic.
We wrapped up the night with a home cooked meal.
It was nice not to stray too far today, but simply explore the beach around us and feel the Gold Coast vibe.
