We had a great week in Seattle, getting to stay with my Dad's cousin Melinda and her husband Sam...and don't forget Heidi their Westie.
Puppicino
On a morning pit stop at Starbucks, as one does in Seattle:
Melinda: "Doug, when you get your coffee, ask for a puppicino."
Doug: "What's that?"
Melinda: "Just ask."
Without hesitation, the barista put some whipped cream into a small cup for Heidi, who took on much (often too much) affection from Paige & Sadie.
Strolling in Seattle
Melinda took us all out to stretch our legs at Golden Gardens Park. She offered a wealth of information on Seattle for us - another landing spot we're considering when our adventure is done.
Pikes Place Market
If you visit Seattle and don't go to Pikes Place Market, did you go to Seattle at all? Melinda expertly navigated us through the market to some of her favorite spots. Sarah and the girls were particularly taken by the beautiful fresh cut flowers.
Eager Ballet Students
The girls were captivated by Melinda's ballet lessons in the evenings.
Sam the Banker
The girls were very interested to learn that Sam was a "boss at a bank." We thought of Sam and got questions every time we passed a Washington Mutual branch!
Thank you to Melinda and Sam for taking us in and making our time in Seattle so special!
