You're most likely thinking this post will be about me & Doug popping from bar to bar in Saigon. But it's not! It's actually about the girls and a board game they found at Le Domaine on Tam Hai island :) Le Domaine had a number of communal board games. Doug was back in the room, napping to nurse a bad headache (no alcohol involved!). I was enjoying a cup of coffee on the beach while working on a blog post. The girls were happily left to their own devices in the main seating area/hut.
I went up to check on them at one point and they were happily playing a game called "Saigon Pub Crawl" that had caught their eye. I didn't get any of the game specifics at that point. They were perfectly happy & self sufficient; I didn't want to rock the boat! I went back to my blogging & coffee, and about 45 minutes later I went back up to say hello. They had a carafe of water next to them, and were drinking water out of small, almost shot glass sized cups. They excitedly said, "Mommy, we're drinking sooooo much water!" and "Mommy, Paige just had to choose between taking off one piece of clothing or drinking water! She chose the water!"
My brain clicked into gear & I started laughing to myself. Of course! Saigon Pub Crawl was a drinking game! Duh! Apparently P&S had originally been slugging back water out of tall water glasses and constantly having to take bathroom breaks :) Caroline saw them and gave them the small tumblers to use instead, haha!
I was still giggling about this to myself an hour or two later, and again when I told Doug the story. Such a tug of war . . . raising the girls to be independent, vibrant & strong spirits, but maintaining some degree of that safe, sweet naivety that they currently enjoy :)
