Rock Climbing in Hanoi

Physical kid play space is hard to find in this part of the world. Unlike a place like Copenhagen early in our trip, it takes effort here. From what we can surmise, the kids get most of their physical activity during their time at school.

Việt Climb

I read about Viet Climb and thought it would make for a perfect afternoon of physical activity. I encouraged Sarah to go off and enjoy some alone time and I'd take the girls to scale the highest heights in Hanoi.

We kept it a surprise from the girls. Sadie during diarrhea of the mouth mentioned it as one of the things she thought it might be, but I kept a stern poker face. When we arrived, they were smitten.

Climbing

We spend a couple of hours free soloing. There were about eight other climbers, all of them French. This certainly appeared to be a French ex-pat hangout of sorts.

A little light headed being this high without our oxygen tanks.

Sadie invented a new move, never seen before...

Paige on what we named the "pick your nose climb," you'll see why...

Sadie reflected, saying she was "excited" by the surprise and Paige added, "I really liked it because it was challenging."

Physical activity (besides our typical 8+ miles a day walking) and Sarah time out and about on her own...two infrequent occurrences on our trip!
