Off the Charts Óbidos

Truth be told, we showed up in Óbidos not having any clue what to expect. It had come highly recommended by folks that know Portugal well, and it was a perfect stopping-off point on our return trip to Lisbon from Porto.

Woow. Just Wow. Óbidos oozed charm. From its white, blue & yellow facades, to its walled, cobblestone streets and vibrant blooming flowers, it was just beautiful. We spent a lazy few hours there, winding around the streets, snagging some food, listening to street musicians and watching horse & buggies trot by.

As we turned a corner we spotted a tranquil garden restaurant/cafe. We decided to give ourselves some time to enjoy it. Doug read the news on his phone. I wrote postcards. Paige & Sadie did a myriad of things including playing rat-a-tat cat card game, running around & making flower bouquets, mastering their cartwheels and taking selfies :) It was the perfect place to be for an hour.

Keep doing you, Óbidos! Well worth a stop.
