Konoba Bracera

"Konoba" in Croatian means tavern. It's typically a casual restaurant serving local food, similar to a trattoria in Italy. After spending the morning at the Stonemason School, we took a short drive to the fishing village of Postira to grab a bite.

Koboba Bracera

We passed by Koboba Bracera, noting it, before deciding to have lunch there when surveying our options. We chose wanting to be close to the water, and we ended up having what we all considered to be one of the best meals of our trip thus far.

Our Order

  • Doug - grilled white fish & veggies

  • Sarah - grilled calamari

  • Sadie - pasta pomodoro

  • Paige - fried fish

I walked Sarah off the cliff of ordering the fried calamari. When it's this fresh and in Croatia where they cook everything over such flavorful wood, the fried just doesn't cut it. She agreed to save fried calamari for when we're back in the USA.

Postcarding

Before the food arrived, Sarah got busy with one of her favorite travel activities - writing postcards to friends and family. Paige & Sadie have also caught the bug, firing post cards to friends back in NYC.

If there was a Hall of Fame for postcards, Sarah wouldn't just be in it...it would be named after her!

The Food!

Squidalicious.

Grilled white fish, sprinkled with some awesomeness.

Best grilled veggies ever.

Typically not a zucchini fan, even she had to admit it was pretty darn good.

Loitering

After finishing up our delicious meal, we stuck around for a bit to enjoy the scene.

It's like this was planted for the Global Subway adventure.

Happy luncher.

Everything about this lunch was awesome - food, setting and company!
