Location: Copenhagen Hotel Room
Me: “Girls, I’m going for a run in the morning, before you wake up. I’m going to run like a Great Dane (pun intended).”
Sadie: “Daddy, run like a rolling raisin!”
And so I did. One of the things I’m looking forward to most around the world is waking up early and seeing sites of the cities we’re in before the hustle and bustle of the day. It’s a way to feel like a local and stumble upon new neighborhoods.
I embraced early morning travel runs while in Rome, 2017. Running past a silent Pantheon, seeing the early morning light on the Forum and a tourist free Colosseum got me hooked.
Just a couple of weeks into the trip and I’m off to a great start.
“Faroe Horse Farms”
On a pre-dinner jog, I happened upon a series of horse farms just over the hill from our airbnb in the Faroe islands. After dinner and with PJs on, we took the girls out for a surprise evening “PJ walk” to visit the horses. This was much different than our ocassional PJ walks in Manhattan, a couple of blocks in the Upper West Side for ice cream.
“Flying Up a Fjord”
The Fjord won in a lopsided battle. 2004 tennis shape would have been a different story ;)
I’ll be updating this Google photos album to remember my runs and attempted to caption with clever name. Feel free to check it out.
