Is this Art Heaven?

Updated: Aug 9, 2019

Treats come in many shapes and sizes for 8 and 6 year old girls. If measured in marine life, visiting Nan’s art studio in San Francisco reminded us of the blue whale in our old neighborhood at the Natural History Museum.

After the excitement saying hello to Papa & Nan for breakfast at one of their favorite spots, the Le Marais Bakery in the Marina, we headed to Nan’s studio near the Giants ballpark.

Breakfast hello at Le Marais.

Flashback to Nov 2013 with the girls at the same SF bakery!

A Blank Canvas

After an inspiring tour of of the studio and a peek at some of Nan’s paintings and works in progress, she handed the brushes to Paige & Sadie.

It was a colorful couple of hours and each girl had a special twinkle in their eye. Sadie, who wants to be an artist when she grows up, reflected afterwards:

“I want to be an artist like Nan when I grow up, but I don’t want to be famous.” - Sadie

Paige on the other hand was angling for a way to sell her paintings ;)

Thanks Nan for bringing a blue whale to life.
