Home Cookin'

Italian markets, terrace with a view, a kitchen, did I mention Italy...it's made for two weeks of great home cooked meals.

Chief Feeder

I'm enthusiastic as the official "Chief Feeder" of our family. I've always involved the girls, but slow cooking here in Italy with more time, I've taken advantage in teaching them the 'why' of so many things as we cook. Answering the 'why' in cooking, as opposed to following a recipe, is the key to creating a true skill.

Enthusiastic Sous Chefs

Both Paige and Sadie have been especially eager to help in the kitchen. In fact, they've even had a few squabbles in the kitchen over who's getting to do more.

Soup for Breakfast

Paige knows that I prefer savory and in my own world I'd just as soon eat three lunch/dinners and skip breakfast all together. I woke up on my birthday to the smell of garlic and rosemary sauteing in olive oil; Paige, knowing my savory preference, was preparing a chicken noodle soup for breakfast. It was delicious!

1,000 Family Meals!

On the road, we'll eat together as a family nearly 1,000 times! In our former life, that would take about 5 years to achieve! We'll certainly remember the ones here in Amelia and with our special guest Papa. Below are some of the highlights and action shots!

Can't wait to get in the kitchen with these girls in Asia! Just today, I was searching for some cooking classes in India for us...
