The Bohaboy & Sagan crews had one last group excursion left in us before we would have to part ways.
Gorge or Bust
We opted for a hike to the Vorderkaserklamm, a gorgeous gorge (pun intended) just near Lofer. Some fun stats about the gorge . . . it has 51 wooden walkways & 373 steps, is 80 meters deep, measures 80 cm wide at its narrowest point and 6 meters wide at its top. Super fun to explore via the winding, steep & narrow staircases because it was unlike anything we and the girls had ever seen.

Cool Down
Gorge completed, we headed down to the river where we chilled out for a bit. We put our toes in the icy cold water, threw a few rocks and generally reflected on our awesome weekend together.
Final Lunch
The starting point of the gorge had a dynamite restaurant and an adjacent playground. It was the perfect place to squeeze in one last meal and hang time together before we all hit the road. The food was scrumptious & freshly homemade. The setting peaceful. And the bees were out in force (this was the case ALL over Austria!).
Time to Hug Goodbye (For Now)
Bellies and souls full, we headed back to the cars and said our goodbyes.
This year will be full of a lot of hellos and goodbyes. The goodbyes are tough because in many instances - especially with super friends like the Sagans who live on the opposite side of the planet from us - we don't know exactly when the next time will be when we get to log some quality face-to-face together. As hard as that reality is, we accept saying goodbye (for now) if it means we get to say hello again in the first place!
We're incredibly grateful for the quality time we had with Henry, Mira, Tobias & Lotta. Finding friends where it's easy & enjoyable to be together (adults & kiddos alike), make conversation and create lasting, fun experiences is a special thing! We've managed to see each other a few times since they moved away from NYC in 2013. With gratitude for this visit together in 2019, here's to the next time, wherever & whenever that will be!
