Goodbye Jamyang & Tashi

It was time for us to say goodbye to Bhutan. Part of saying goodbye to this beautiful, special place was saying goodbye to our amazing partners, Jamyang & Tashi. I had the girls write a little thank you note to each of them. Content is all them . . .

Sadie to Jamyang: Best tour guide ever! (with drawings of stupas & hiking trails)
Paige's letter to Jamyang :)
Sadie to Tashi: Great job! (with drawings of him driving us)

Wishing J&T All the Best

Generally speaking we prefer to be out on our own, exploring places to our own beat, as opposed to being part of tour groups. However, the few times we’ve tapped into tour guides & local drivers - especially Bhutan, Egypt & Jordan - we’ve had the opportunity to connect with some really special locals. Jamyang & Tashi will hold an extra special place in our hearts & memories. We genuinely connected to them, learned about their lives & everyday routines/challenges/free time, shared our story and had some really fun, joyful times. I hope they still have the origami paper cranes that we got them at the Black Neck Crane Sanctuary. Tashi immediately perched his atop his van’s dashboard next to a Buddha and picture of the King, which I found very touching. I know for a fact they will never forget Sadie & Paige’s “gulp gulp” silly noise that made them both erupt into laughter every time they heard it :)

We wish Jamyang, Tashi and their families all the very best ahead. We’re very grateful our paths merged and that they were the ambassadors to teach us about their incredible country.

Hope We Return!

Bhutan, it's been AMAZING. We hope the four of us return some day. If not all four of us, then most definitely Paige & Sadie . . . maybe with their own kids one day! Whenever that day is, we hope Bhutan remains as special as it is today. Until next time, Bhutan!
