Believe it or not, we don’t have many long haul or overnight flights planned during our year of travel. Mostly because we’re making so many stops along the way, and that breaks up what would otherwise be longer segments.

Tonight was one of the few overnight flights we have. We flew overnight from Montreal, Canada to Reykjavik, Iceland (en route to the Faroe Islands). Big shout-out to Icelandair who treated the girls like royalty! P&S were given a little nylon backpack upon boarding, filled with an activity book, a card game (based on Icelandic animals), colored pencils and kid-friendly headphones. Not only that, but they were also given a darling little meal pack. Us adults, on the other hand, got no sort of food or activity packs, haha :) It was nice to see kids treated in a special way. The girls were tickled pink, and Paige officially wants to trade out her Fjällräven trip backpack for the Icelandair one :)

We told the girls the screens were off-limits for the overnight flight. The only exception was the 4-minute Iceland promotional video that we let them watch :) We thought if we banned screens the girls would get a solid rest. Sadly our screen deprivation strategy didn't work so well. None of us got more than an hour sleep. Drat!

Good morning Iceland

Layover in Reykjavik
