After a quick overnight in Salzburg, we stopped in the Austrian town of Hallstatt on our way back to our home base in Austria.
Is This Real?
Hallstatt is one of those places where it seems like a dream. The town is located on the shore of Lake Hallstatt and abutted by magical Austrian mountains that have no end.
The city came to be during the Iron Age, part of "Upper Austria" which was prized for it's proximity to bountiful salt mines (we visited one in XXXXXX <POST LINK>).
"Hallstätter See"
Upon arrival, we decided to get our first view from Hallstätter See (Lake Hallstatt). We queued to join a 10 person boat ride, but discovered we could instead pilot our own electric boat and we jumped at the chance.
This is what we saw...
Captain P&S
Enthusiastic captains took the helm and piloted us to the incredible views.
I'm still not sure this place was real...
