Armed with a location on google maps and a picture of the stall, we headed for a pork noodle recommendation for lunch at Phở Tíu Bà Phương. Rae, a British woman living in Hanoi who we'd met at one of our hotels in Bhuthan earlier in the trip, highly recommended it.
Don't Give Up
We arrived at the small alleyway which was full of vendors, the majority of which were selling various types of soups. It wasn't immediately clear which was the correct stall.
Finally after walking up and down the alley numerous times and showing 3+ people the picture Rae had given us to help, we finally found it!
Noodle Heaven
There were traditional Vietnamese rice noodles served in a rich pork broth and topped with all kind of flavor/texture enhancers - peanuts, cilantro, pork, fried onions. There were other liquids added you can see from the video beyond the stock, not sure what, but it was delicious! We all agreed it was the best of the trip!
Here's to hoping it becomes the second best noodle soup of the trip sometime soon!
Now remember the seafood chow fun at Sun Ya, Seattle? We are going there for dim sum Sunday morning en route to the Seahawks/Arizona NFL game. Go Hawks!
