Our morning macadamia nut tour and school session left everyone hungry.
Pizza
We had the provisions, so we walked down the hill to the picnic area on the farm, which conveniently had a pizza oven for use. P&S eager came with me to prep the pizzas, while Sarah caught up on a few things back in the cottage.
When it was ready, we yelled up and Sarah came down to join us.
During lunch we commented on pizza eating technique.
Sarah - cuts her pizza in small pieces. Preposterous!
Sadie - eats down the slice and then folds it horizontally at the end. Respectable.
Doug & Paige - classic vertical fold from start to finish. NYC traditional.
Herb Planing with Farmer Robyn
The morning was with Farmer Paul, the afternoon with Farmer Robyn. She had two eager recruits to help out with planting herbs in plant beds just outside our cottage. They're there so guests can grab as needed when cooking in their cottages.
Sarah and I remained in the cottage to catch up on our blog, while the girls got to work. A couple of hard downpours resulted in some rain delays, but in the end they got the job done. Sage, lettuce, basil, pumpkin and parsley will soon be available for guests.
After an afternoon math session, Sarah and I alternated getting out for runs. It's stunning around here, running by horse farms, fields full of jumping wallabies and all the crazy birds in Australia.
Cooked up some Chicken Tikka Masala for dinner in the cottage, packed up, girls book-wormed and that's a wrap. This was a great RTW day!
