Travel Morning
1. Early AM flight from Bangkok to Krabi
2. Two hour car ride from Krabi Airport to Khao
3. Arrived by lunch to our accommodation for one night at the Nung House
In contrast to Bangkok, we're now adjacent to Khao Sok National Park in a much more tropical and jungle climate.
After a quick bite to eat we busted open some passion fruit we found under a passion fruit tree at the hotel. Sadie had never tried fresh passion fruit, a favorite of Sarah and mine. See Sadie's reaction for yourself:
River Swim
The hotel suggested we take a dip in the nearby river in a watering hole that was about a 10 minutes walk from our hotel.
What a spot for a dip!
Human Sushi
It was all fun and games until a Thai fish decided to sharply "nibble" on Sarah's toe. No blood drawn, but it got a little flesh. If Sarah ever sees Thai River Fish on a sushi menu...revenge!
What's That Noise?
After drying off we head back toward our hotel. While walking, we heard a few loud noises in the trees - it was quite loud, almost sounding like someone chopping wood. Before we knew it, we were surround by a troop of monkeys! They kept coming, there must have been 30-40 of them passing through.
A Couple of Hours at the Bar
Nothing hard, but we did order a passion fruit smoothie (hold the condensed milk - that's free flowing in this country). It was time for a couple hours of school before dinner.
Dinner
The town of Khao Sok is largely a backpackers stop and entry point into the National Park, where we are headed tomorrow. That means there will be some good Thai food to be had. This was a welcomed sight to our table after a long day of travel, swimming, monkey business and some school.
